Breathtaking Sedona

Sedona, Arizona is famous for its breathtaking red rock views, it’s spiritual vibe and its adorable town. It features some amazing hotels and restaurants, as well. A two hour drive from Phoenix International Airport, Sedona made for a wonderful and restful weekend getaway.

Where to Hike

There are no shortage of places to take in the breathtaking Sedona views on a hike. The area is is probably what the area is most known for.  We did some short hikes around the infamous vortexes. Information about the vortexes abounds, and I visited the one near the Sedona airport.

For a longer hike out of town a bit, I used the AllTrails app to find a 10 mile hike. The scenery along the whole way were stunning.

Where to Stay

We stayed at L’Auberge de Sedona, an upscale and peaceful hotel right on Oak Creek. The views out of the room were stunning.  We ordered room service a few times just so we could enjoy the views without having to leave the room.

The Apothecary – the spa at L’Auberge

The Apothecary, the spa, was a luxurious treat. The spa itself is set within the serene setting of a verdant forest and the sound of the water rippling by. All of their products were organic and the entire experience reflected the beauty of the surrounding nature.  It was divine!

Where to Eat

The restaurant at the hotel featured delicious food served right alongside the bank of Oak Creek.  There were plenty of other options in town. After our long hike, we quenched our thirst at the Sedona Beer Company. We had a fun Italian meal at Gerardo’s Italian kitchen. In short, you will not go hungry!
