Your Guide to the Best Paris Hotels: Top Picks by Arrondisement
Whether they are luxury hotels, boutique hotels, art & design hotels, or whether they have one of the best roof-top bars in town, these hotels are in fantastic but in very different neighborhoods. For those unfamiliar, Paris is made up of neighborhoods called “arrondisements“, numbered 1-20. Each “arrondisement” has a very different style and character, with different monuments, attractions, museums, shops, restaurants, parks and gardens and just overall vibe. If you want a feel for each arrondisement, you could start with this post here.
I’ve also rounded up a variety of price points, so hopefully there is something for everyone here. If there is no hotel listed for one of the neighborhoods, it is because I haven’t found a suitable recommendation yet. All of the hotels listed below are rated “exceptional”, regardless of price point – a rating given for exceptional hospitality, design and location. Also, please note, I have not included the really grand luxury hotels like the Bristol, the Four Seasons, the Ritz. That’s for a different post!
I will continue to update the post as I continue on my quest to find the perfect Paris hotels! By clicking on the name of the hotel, you can see photos of the property and rooms. Please note that by clicking on some links, at no cost to you, I may make a small commission to help bring you valuable Paris content!
1er Arrondisement – Louvre/ Rue de Rivoli
Hôtel Thérèse
While so many other neighborhoods in Paris have so many unique characteristics, the best thing about the 1er arrondisement is the location. You are right in the center of it it all in the first: close to the Louvre, the Palais Royal, the Tuileries garden, Place de la Concorde, shopping on rue Saint Honoré or in Place Vendôme or major department stores like la Samaritaine or le Printemps, dining and so much more.
Plus, the very easy to get around metro is right there to take you to the other parts of Paris if you like. So not only is Hôtel Thérèse a stylish and comfortable hotel, but guests will be perfectly situated to take advantage of Paris. It is a small, less pricey boutique hotel but for this price and this neighborhood, it is an ideal place to stay when you want to fully enjoy all of the best parts of Paris.
Address: 5-7 rue Thérèse, 75001 Paris (1st Arr. – Musée du Louvre/Les Halles)
2ème Arrondisement
Hôtel Edgar & Achille
Located in an old textile workshop in the 2nd, Edgar is actually the name of the son of Guillaume Rouget-Luchaire, the owner of the hotel. Purchasing the space after his Marais restaurant closed, he hired artist friends to develop the space into an artsy hotel. The hotel provides complimentary bicycles, bocce ball sets and delicious Edgar picnic baskets, on request, to make your Paris stay perfect. The lobby bar is quite chic, and there is a restaurant in the hotel.
Address: 1 Rue Sainte-Foy, Paris, Île-de-France, 75002, France
3ème Arrondisement – Le Marais/ Arts et Metiers
Solly Hotel Paris
The Solly Hotel was once the home to the French engineer Saloman de Caus (1576-1626) who was an architect, engineer, mathematician, musical theorist, and a designer of fountains and gardens. Combining all these talents, his Parisian residence was an ode to his love of beauty and symmetry, qualities that are still reflected in the building’s modern incarnation as a boutique hotel. The façade alone is a masterpiece of marble and stone. If you are looking for a hotel with architectural design, Le Solly may be your place. In addition, it is located in the Marais, with all its charming shops and restaurants.
Address: 4 rue Salomon de Caus, 75003 Paris, France (3rd Arr. – Le Marais)
4ème Arrondisement – Le Marais/ Notre Dame
Hôtel le Grand Mazarin
The location and the design of this space make this an ideal place to stay in Paris. Le Grand Mazarin is idyllically situated right near the cute, boutique shops in le Marais. The design is sumptuous but it is not as big as some of the over-the-top luxury hotels in Paris.
Address: 17 Rue de la Verrerie, Paris, France, 75004
5ème Arrondisement – The Latin Quarter
Hôtel des Grands Hommes
This hotel is perfectly situated opposite the columns of the Pantheon in the heart of the historic 5th arrondissement, making it a lovely choice for exploring all that the Rive Gauche has to offer!
Address: 17 Place du Pantheon, Paris, Île-de-France, 75005, France
6ème Arrondisement – The Latin Quarter
Hôtel Dame des Arts
The Hôtel Dame des Arts is located in the Latin Quarter, a lively area, walking distance to La Sorbonne and Notre Dame Cathedral, Luxembourg gardens and the Panthéon. A very instagrammable hotel in the 6th arrondisement, the Hôtel Dame des Arts even has some rooms with Eiffel Tower views. It also features a fun Rooftop Bar as well as a secret garden courtyard.
Address: 4 Rue Danton, Paris , Île-de-France, 75006, France
Relais Christine
Tucked away in a quiet street in the Latin quarter on Paris left bank- the Relais Christine is set in a 17th century mansion surrounding a flower-filled cobblestone courtyard. Designed as a refined authentic Left bank home, the property has been decorated with exclusive French fabrics and antiques. The lobby is elegant. The mansion was built on the remains of a 13th century abbey and you can see the historic stone vaults in the luxurious Guerlain spa. The Latin quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Pres are full of wonderful shopping, art galleries, antique shops and many famous cafes and restaurants.
Address: 3 Rue Christine, Paris, 75006
7ème Arrondisement – Eiffel Tower/ Invalides
Le Narcisse Blanc Hôtel & Spa
A hip hotel and spa located in the fabulous 7th Arrondissement (one of my favorite neighborhoods), Le Narcisse Blanc Hotel and Spa combines classic Parisian elegance with a more modern touch. This boutique hotel was designed with the style and spirit of Cleo de Merode- muse to legendary artists like Toulouse-Lautrec – in mind. And, importantly, the hotel rooms are sound-proofed for a perfect sleep (anyone who knows about motor scooters in Paris will appreciate this feature!).
The hotel has a concierge to assist with tours and activities. The 7th arrondisement neighborhood is a quite pretty, with rue Cler close by as well as the Eiffel Tower, the Musee d’Orsay, the Champ de Mars, Invalides and of course the amazing shopping that the 7th offers. Le Narcisse Blanc Hotel and Spa is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property, which guarantees a luxury stay!
Address: 19 Blvd De La Tour Maubourg, 75007, Paris, France
8ème Arrondisement – Champs-Elysèes/ Arc de Triomphe
Hôtel de Berri Champs-Élysées, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Paris
The Hôtel de Berri Champs-Élysées is conveniently located in the 8th arrondisement. I like staying on this side of town as it is easier to get in and out of Paris to the airport. Also, it is located along line 1 of the metro, one of the main lines for accessing the whole city. The hotel itself dates back to the early 1900’s and is nestled within a rare green oasis in the heart of the city. The hotel features some of the 20th Century’s greatest names in decorative arts. As a Marriott property, you can use this link to activate cash back and other deals with this booking.
Address: 18-22 Rue De Berri, Paris, 75008
Château des Fleurs – Hôtel & Spa
Location is key in this stylish hotel, just off the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe. The hotel is in a lovely 1910 building and is a testament to the glamour of Belle Époque Paris. And after a long day of sight-seeing, guests can enjoy the spa, pluge pool and sauna. Typical to Paris, some of the rooms are quite small but impeccably designed. The lobby bar features pink marble and there is even fireplace for those chilly, January days.
Address: 19, Rue Vernet, 75008, Paris, France (8th Arr. – Champs-Élysées/Madeleine)
Norman Hôtel & Spa
This hotel is named after the mid-century American artist and designer Norman Ives. The interiors are all styled in a modernist art and design with a nod to 1960’s Paris. Located near the top of the Champs-Elysées, it is boutique sized with just 37 rooms. The smart lobby offers a library lounge, fireplace, retro sofas and a bar. Also, the hotel has it’s own spa on site for relaxing after all that shopping.
Address: 9 -11 Rue Balzac, 75008, Paris, France, 8th Arr. (Champs-Élysées/Madeleine)
Hotel Balzac Paris
Just off the Champs-Élysées, and near the Arc de Triomphe, the Hôtel Balzac was built on the very site of the great French author Honoré de Balzac’s final place of residence. While it has been a hotel for awhile, in 2024 it went through a major renovation and upgrade thanks to hotelier Oliver Bertrand, who also did the fantastic Saint James Paris.
Now, the Hôtel Balzac features new interiors by Parisian designers Charlotte de Tonnac and Hugo Sauzay, featuring crisp, modern but quintessentially luxury Parisian design. The hotel is well situated near famous Paris sites as well as high-end shopping. The Spa Ikoi offers a break from the bustle of the Parisian streets, while the bar and lounge is classy and unpretentious. The three MICHELIN starred restaurant Pierre Gagnaire shares an address with the hotel.
Address: 6 Rue Balzac, 75008, Paris, France
9ème Arrondisement – Opéra Garnier/Pigalle
Hôtel Rochechouart
The Pigalle neighborhood, known for the Moulin Rouge, has gotten a bit cleaner and safer in recent years but it still maintains its bohemian spirit. Hôtel Rochechouart opened almost a century ago and has retained many of its original features like the antique elevator, crown molding and an impressive marble staircase. The hotel, with its Art Deco façade, has modernized since then. Top floor rooms offer impressive views of the Sacre Coeur.
On the ground floor of the hotel is the popular-with-locals brasserie. Underground, guests will find an underground speakeasy-style bar and nightclub, while all the way up on the rooftop, one of the best open-air bars in town offers unparalleled views of Paris.
Address: 55 boulevard de Rochechouart, 75009, Paris, France (Opéra Garnier/Pigalle)
Adèle & Jules
This is a very pretty, 60 room hotel located in the Grands Boulvevards district and is the newer in a family that includes Hôtel Thérèse (mentioned above) and Hôtel Recamier. As it is Paris, the rooms are on the smaller, cozy side with Nespresso machines and some rooms have balconies. The neighborhood is not as touristy as some of the others yet there is excellent dining, the Opéra Garnier, the Galeries Lafayette department store,
Address: 2 et 4bis cité Rougemont, Paris (9th Arr., Opéra Garnier/Pigalle)
10ème Arrondisement – Place de la Republique
Hôtel Providence de Paris
This small, cozy 18 room Hôtel Providence de Paris is located a bit off the beaten path in the 10th arrondisement and is rated “superb”. This hotel, which was built in 1854. Located in an area known as the ‘Haut-Marais’, it is near Place de la Republique, the Bastille, Canal St. Martin and not too far from Beaubourg/ Centre Pompidou. The hotel also features 1 Michelin Key, which indicates an “exceptional hotel stay”.
Address: 90 Rue René Boulanger, 75010, Paris, France
Hôtel Les Deux Gares
While staying between two busy train stations, Gare de l’Est and the Gare du Nord, might not be what you had in mind when you dreamed of Paris, you may need to give this colorful hotel a chance. The hotel is designed by English artist and designer Luke Edward Hall, who spent an exorbitant amount of time and energy researching and creating an exciting color palette for this boutique hotel. The location could be ideal if you are passing through Paris on your way to one of France’s many other beautiful spots by train. The interior design is a feast for the eyes, to be sure!
Address: 2 Rue des Deux-Gares, 75010, Paris, France (10th Arr. – Gare de Nord/Gare de l’Est)
11ème Arrondisement – the Bastille
Oh la la! Hotel – Paris Bastille
Who loves a secret entrance? At Oh la la!, you go through a bookcase that opens a secret door. From there, you will find a budget-friendly boutique hotel in a upbeat area of Paris. Be sure to go to the Marché de la Bastille (Wednesdays and Saturdays) for an authentic, Parisian food experience.
Address: 6 Rue de la Roquette, 75011, Paris, France (11th Arr. – Opéra Bastille)
14ème Arrondisement – Montparnasse/ Catacombs
Hôtel Cabane
Down in the 14th, you will find the bustling neighborhood of Montparnasse with cafés and shops and even the Catacombs. Amid this quintessential Parisian neighborhood, the Hôtel Cabane, an Orso Hotel, has some unique features that will make for a memorable stay. The façade is a lovely ivory with a slate roof and dormer windows, in classic Paris architectural style. However, the property has a sumptuous interior garden. The best room in the hotel is actually a ‘cabin’ built out of wood – most decidedly not Parisian! This could be a great spot to stay when the weather is better, as breakfast is served outside in to take advantage of the pretty garden.
Address: 76 rue Raymond Losserand, 75014, Paris, France (14th Arr. – Montparnasse)
16ème Arrondisement – Arc de Triomphe/ Trocadéro/ Bois de Boulogne
Hôtel Raphael*
*My favorite place to stay in Paris, due to it’s location and exceptional service. However, it is closed for an extensive renovation until Spring 2026!*
Address: 17 Avenue Kleber, 75016, Paris, France (16th Arr. – Arc de Triomphe)
Hôtel Botaniste
The 16th arrondisement is a bit of a mix – some areas are near the Trocadero area, the Eiffel Tower and the top of the Champs-Elysees/ the Arc de Triomphe. However, much of the 16th tends to be a bit more quiet, bordering the vast Bois de Boulogne park. Hôtel Botaniste takes full advantage of the space with a private garden. The garden-theme carries on in the interior design with floral prints and actual floral arrangements. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the dining room or outside, as a picnic in the garden.
The closest metro stop is Chardon-Lagache and you aren’t too far from architect Frank Gehry’s masterpiece, the Fondation Louis Vuitton. This location is great for those who are less interested in hustling to see all the big tourist attractions and more interested in soaking in Paris at a slower pace.
Address: 11 rue Molitor, 75016, Paris, France (16th Arr. – Trocadéro)
17ème Arrondisement – Arc de Triomphe/ Parc Monceau/ Place Clichy
Hôtel L’Eldorado Paris
L’Eldorado is in the Batignolles neighborhood, not too far from Montmartre and the Sacré-Cœur. The hotel featues an urban garden, courtyard pavilion, and lots of 19th-century embellishments.
Address: 18 Rue Des Dames, Paris, Île-de-France, 75017
Miss Fuller
Miss Fuller refers to the American-born dancer Loïe Fuller who was a star at the Folies Bergère cabaret dance hall during the Art Nouveau days of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The Miss Fuller Hotel, located not far from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées, is a boutique hotel from the Drawing Hotels Collection. This Paris based hotel brand works with artists, designers and architects to create distinctly beautiful hotels. The hotel’s interiors are designed by several artists who re-created a Belle Époque style. While totally updated and modern, the building still retains its history, with antique frosted-glass partitions and wrought-iron balconies.
Address: 11 avenue Mac Mahon, 75017, Paris, France, (17th Arr. – Parc Monceau/Place Clichy)
18ème Arrondisement – Montmartre
Monsieur Aristide
Ah, Montmartre, the magical, artistic neighborhood high up on the hill. This hotel fully embraces the romantic, bohemian myth, especially since the building dates back to the 19th century and has retained its original cocktail bar and reception desk. Monsieur Artistide was a French cabaret singer sometimes depicted in Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s posters. The hotel also has its own interior garden and each room has a unique design. The hotel also features a bistro and a late-night bar. In this location, you will be near the Sacre-Coeur and the Place de Tertre, but you will be a bit removed from all of Paris below, which can be a very good thing!
Address: 3 Rue Aristide Bruant, 75018, Paris, France, (18th Arr. – Montmartre)
